SUMMARY:
In collaboration with North Stafford High School and Stafford County Public Schools, DES designed and renovated a teacher workroom into a new, state-of-the-art Biomedical Laboratory. This transformation resulted from the SCPS decision to pilot the PLTW (“Project Lead the Way”) biomedical curriculum as part of the Virginia Department of Education initiative. Laboratory casework included a microscope cabinet as well as acid, flammable, and general lab storage. Metal lab tables are used for student work and feature black epoxy resin tops and blue KI Intellect Wave task stools to tie in the school colors. The project was installed during the summer for students to begin using for the 2010-2011 school year.
